Help us plant more trees where they are most needed. To celebrate and show our support for World Environment Day this month, our team at SmartConsult wanted to support a worthwhile cause and so we decided upon a reforestation initiative planting trees.

With many tree planting initiatives overseas and abroad, we felt particularly passionate about supporting tree planting initiatives in Australia. We selected One Tree Planted who are a 501C3 non-profit with a focus on global reforestation. As an environmental charity, they are dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world. They successfully planted 15 million trees in 2020 and we want to help them plant a lot more.

One Tree Planted has planted trees in five of Australia’s states and territories and across New Zealand. Their projects are restoring forests following the destruction of the Black Summer bushfires; are rejuvenating critical habitat for wildlife like koalas and cockatoos; and safeguarding community watersheds through restoration of indigenous tree species. We felt this was a cause well worth supporting right here at home in Australia and so for every new order placed in June, we will donate 100 trees.

With over 123 million hectares of native forests, Australia has the seventh largest forest area in the world, making up three per cent of the Earth’s forests. These forests are unique and varied – ranging from ancient Gondwana rainforest and tropical mangroves to extensive bush lands made up of native acacia, melaleuca and eucalyptus trees. Every donation helps to plant millions of trees across Australia to recover forests affected by the 2019-20 Black Summer Bushfires and restore native habitat vital for wildlife.
